Between the prior picture and this one, there were to have been 2 or 3 more pictures here documenting the next part of my exploration. I walked back up to the "other end" of Charles Street (note the fork on the map) by the railroad. I found a tunnel under the tracks, which brought me out onto what I believe was the platform of old Auburndale/Riverside Station. A path lead further upstream from there, which brought me to a footbridge that was in much better condition than the first.
This view is a picture of the Charles from the footbridge. The view is downstream, and the bridge shown is the Boston & Albany Railroad bridge. The family boathouse would have been just beyond that bridge.
