As you may have inferred from other pages on this site, I grew up in Memphis. I moved to Memphis in 1978. Since my father was (and still is) a local urban planner, and my mother was (at the time) a docent at the Memphis Zoo, the subject of routing I-40 through Overton Park in midtown Memphis was a hot topic in my household.
