It’s a little late, but if you want a fun political science exercise (yes, I have odd ideas as to what “fun” is), you might want to check out a series of posts at Doc’s Political Parlor. Comments are being sought on a draft constitution prepared by a mock constitutional convention in Alabama.
Alabama’s state constitution is infamous for its length. To put it bluntly, it’s loaded down with quite a bit of crap pertaining to individual towns or counties…stuff which really shouldn’t be in a constitution.
It seems that a reform-minded group has taken it upon themselves to clean up the document, and the request for feedback is generating some fascinating discussion.
