Today, the House Committee on Financial Services held a hearing on the Madoff ponzi scheme. The Wall Street Journal’s MarketBeat featured a partial live-blog of the event. It features the following comment from blogger David Gaffen:
MarketBeat believes these hearings would work out better if the individual members were not allowed to speak other than to ask questions.
If you have never been to a legislative committee meeting – be it state or federal – it’s an experience I recommend that every citizen have at least once in life. It’s an event best experienced in person, but television coverage will give you much of the flavor.
Of course, I also recommend that every person who enjoys hot dogs or sausage see how those food products are made…also, preferably in person…for much the same reasons.
