Just in case someone is curious… I’m on the tail end of a quick business trip to Los Angeles.
When doing research on my ground transportation options, I happened to learn of the LAWA’s FlyAway bus service, which provides bus service between LAX and Van Nuys, Union Station, and Westwood about every half hour for $4 (exact change!) each way
Considering that the Westwood stop was a couple of blocks from our L.A. office, and within an easy walk of my hotel…and that my other options were renting a car and braving the 405 (plus the “fun” stories I’ve heard from coworkers about topping off the tank when returning rental cars at night), or paying an arm-and-a-leg for a cab…it seemed like a worthwhile experiment.
And it was. The wait curbside at LAX for the bus was a bummer, with all the diesel fumes from other shuttles…but such is life. The ride was quick, the bus was comfy, and that $4 fare couldn’t be beat.
I’m not sure that I’d choose the “bus and walk” option in hot or rainy weather…but that wasn’t an issue this trip.
So, for anyone googling by, looking for an answer to a similar Los Angeles transportation dilemma, consider the service recommended.
