On Campaign Sign Theft

On Campaign Sign Theft

21 October 2008 · No Comments

There has been a low, but persistent level of stories in various media about some petty tricks that have been taking place with emotions running high and the general election campaign winding down.  Specifically, I refer to the tetrannual sport of campaign sign theft.

In the U.S., we’re supposed to be mostly adults, and tolerant of differing views and others’ rights to express those views.  Sadly, we aren’t as adult as we might think, as manifested by some folks’ love of stealing or vandalizing campaign yard signs.

At Folo, I saw a rather graphic reminder of why such antics are poor form, if manners and sportsmanship are insufficient reasons to not behave badly:

Play nice, people.
