Lawsuit Filed Challenging Obama’s Citizenship

Lawsuit Filed Challenging Obama’s Citizenship

22 August 2008 · 11 Comments

A post at Yall Politics mentions that Philip Berg is suing to block Obama from running for President, primarily on the grounds that he isn’t a “natural born citizen”, and might not even be a citizen at all.

The Yall Politics post also provides links to the various briefs filed.

So, who the heck is Philip Berg?

Well, I think he might be a rabid Hillary supporter, judging by this post of his at the Free Republic.   He’s also previously sued the administration under RICO for causing 9/11, and called for the disbarment of Supreme Court justices over conflict of interest in the Florida election debacle of 2000.

In other words, I think he might just be a little bit nutty.

The claims made in the suit are interesting, in a conspiracy-theory-spent-too-much-time-reading-emails-which-have-been-debunked-by-Snopes kind of way.

Next thing you know, we’ll have some Ron Paul follower making allegations about McCain being a Manchurian candidate.

Was Obama born in Kenya? Why did the first “birth certificate” from Hawaii have serious flaws (different border than that of the period, no raised embossed seal). Does Obama have dual citizenship? Why did the Obama campaign produce a second and different birth certificate, if the first one was valid ? Wouldn’t it be simple to provide a certified copy of birth records instead of dancing around the subject ?

Does it occur to anyone that perhaps Barry is lying? Most of his near and distant relatives still live in Africa and the Middle East, don’t they? Seems odd that he’s the only one trying to claim American citizenship. I understand he was born in two different Hawaiian hospitals too. Weird……

Where is the PROOF that Obama was born in Hawaii? Everyone knows what a real birth certificate looks like!!! This computer copy called “certificate of live birth”, which is a forgery, doesn’t even have the hospital listed on it!! It’s a fake!! Barry, where is your birth certificate? Has anyone even looked in Kenya for it? Where is his real birth certificate???? Hmmmm…what does it show, I wanna know!

I realize that nothing I write will convince anyone who truly wants to believe in conspiracy or cover-up, but I can offer two factoids and two URLs:

First, my birth certificate is entitled “certificate of live birth”. (I wasn’t born in Hawai’i…it’s just an indication that the terminology is kosher.)

Second, when I recently needed to get a copy of my wife’s birth certificate, the document we received was rather obviously a newly-generated document, rather than a copy of the original. The State Department didn’t have a problem with it for purposes of getting her a passport.

And the URL’s — PolitiFact (a venture of the St. Petersburg Times and Congressional Quarterly) has touched on the subject twice: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2008/jun/13/obamas-birth-certificate/ and http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2008/jun/27/obamas-birth-certificate-part-ii/

None of this, of course, proves that Obama’s a “native born citizen”, nor does it address some of the weirdness around the release of his birth certificate.

However, Occam would suggest that the weirdness is probably a manifestation of typical Dem entropy, and the fuss over Obama’s citizenship a manifestation of urban legend and other ‘net nuttery.

If Obama wins the election where he was born will be totaly irrevlant as America will come to regret that he was born. Kenya is a red herring Canada is the place to look for an Qbama record of birth.
In South Carolina all legal ceritificates have a raised embossed seal, does Obama’s have this
    seal.

From what I have read, Obama is not an American citizen and I dont even think hes a Muslim..He cannot provide a simple copy of his birth certificate and has even locked up his college records, selective service records, adoption records, thesis records, law review records, senate records and medical records. Obama is obviously running from his past and has something to hide and is hoping he will be elected president, before anyone finds out who he really is.

Is sister says he was a muslim, his grandmother in kenya says she was in the operating room, when he was born. He keeps his grandmother in hawaii sequesterd but now she is seriously ill I think. Obama has no one from his past to come forth and speak for him and his only acquaintances appear to be crooks, felons and thieves. Democrats are electing someone who is a red herring and most are only voting for him because he is black, in my opinion. Most people interviewed on the street dont even know what his polices are but they are going to vote for him anyway. Real intelligent people; they probably dont even know who the President is!!!!

Obama has had 3 lawsuits filed against him and he has until Oct 21 to provide papers to the Pennsylvanis judge. Now I hear he is wanting a jury trial, as a delaying tatic…laugh. lol….
I dont think this judge is going to fall for that crap. Come on Obama, prove you are really an american .

You are absolutely correct but don’t expect the detractors to listen. They are desperate for any straw right now and refuse to believe that the voters aren’t dumb enough to fall for any Rovian Swift Boat tactics any more. Any idiot knows that the embossed seal is not visible when you copy or photo it (which would mean it wouldn’t show up on the one posted on the web). I’m a notary and I can verify this. Also, my birth certificate also says Certificate of Live Birth and I can assure you I am a natural born citizen. That is, unless these idiots now want to claim that one of the 13 original colonies wasn’t a state either. I have several certified copies of my birth certificate which look nothing like the original hospital one. Have several for my son also because many times copies were needed for things like school, sports, etc. and I didn’t want to risk losing the original which has more sentimental value to me. Many people can’t find their hospital birth certificates - it’s not unsual or sinister. Fortunately, my mother guarded ours with her life so I still have mine but had it been up to my father, it probably would have been lost long ago.
It’s too bad that the Republican candidate is too weak to stand on his own merits and they have to resort to this stuff again. Maybe some day we’ll be done with these old Bush era cronies and they’ll get a clue.
