A Florida appeals court on Friday upheld a state regulator’s order suspending the Allstate Corporation from writing new insurance policies in the state.
The state insurance commissioner’s office said the ruling, by the First District Court of Appeal, meant that the suspension would take effect immediately.
Florida’s insurance commissioner suspended Allstate in January, saying it had not fully complied with a subpoena to testify about its property insurance business.
