So, I had CSPAN on while doing housework this weekend. I happened to catch a stump speech by Barak Obama, in which he said:
I will wake up every day thinking of how we can make your life better.
…or something very similar to that.
It’s a warm and fuzzy sentiment, but one that I find incredibly disturbing.
Have we, as a society, deteriorated to the point where we must rely on government for our lives to be rendered “good” or “bad”?
Whatever happened to the notion that government exists to keep the background machinery running, in order to enable individuals to make their own decisions on how their life will be good or bad?
