I never thought of it before, but I can see why the TSA would train its new airport security checkpoint staff at comparatively slow times of the travel day.
However, perhaps having the sole operating x-ray operator being a noobie at a time when folks might running late to catch one of the last flights out…especially on the shoulder of the holiday travel season…might not be the best idea in the world.
