Presidential Debate Dates Set

20 November 2007 · 3 Comments

Seen in the Business Courier of Cincinnati:

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced the sites for three debates between the two parties’ presidential nominees, and one for their running mates, on Monday. The first presidential debate will be Sept. 26, 2008, at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss.; the second Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.; and the third on Oct. 15, at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. The vice presidential debate will take place Oct. 2 at Washington University in St. Louis.

After, what, 20-30 primary debates, seeing only 3 Presidential and one Veep debate seems…almost dull.

I guess it was too much to hope for to series of in-depth debates, rather than the lightning-round of questioning we’ve become all to accustomed to seeing.

    Dear Presidential Candidate,

As a citizen who has lived with the constant ups and downs of the unemployment rates in the country, my question to you is this. What are you going to do about all the work that is continuing to leave our country, not to mention all the workers that have been brought and continue to be brought in from India to do the jobs that we have people in this country to do. Who is policing up all those workers from India? I was told by a local recruiter here in the Indianapolis area that a very LARGE company here has lost track of most of those workers who have come from India and cannot speak as to there whereabouts. Is world trade more important than building and keeping our own economy strong? Is the almighty Corporate Dollar more important than the strength of this nation? This country is one the largest buying economies in the world. The people of this country spend money, but if we can’t make money, there will certainly be no real buying power here. In my heart of hearts, I believe this is the real driving power behind the mortgage industry. If there are no jobs, there are no homes or money to pay for them. If we could charge the American Corporations and the Government with a Felony over this, it would be appropriate. Buy American America…it could be your saving Grace!!!

A QUESTION TO ALL PARTIES RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT
    BY:
    Terrence Dean Astleford

I am wondering if it ever crossed any of your minds to choose a running mate who is the opposite of their party?

I believe that if we had a President who was Democratic/Republican and a Vice President who was Republican/Democrat would actually unite the country and bring true change. We will then have a White House that represents all the people. Let alone make talks between the President and Vice President would gain the perspective of all people. I think it would make laws and bills that are being considered easier to enact when you already have both parties in the White House. You would gain so much and I believe the country would vote for the real President who really does want to create a new and better America. Someone who says they want change but behind our backs they really don’t. Be different if you want a different America that is better for all people.
    Thank You.
