Well, the A380 (flying with callsign Airbus 201 Super) arrived this morning at Bradley. I, like many other folks, hung around in the open field at the end of Runway 6 to catch the show (upsetting a school bus driver, who tried to call the cops on us), although I think I have the distinction of being about the only person to have walked to the site.
After teasing us by turning off approach to fly around the area, it did finally come in, flying a little low directly over where I was standing.
I had thought to catch the event on video for possible YouTube-ing, and I had even played with the relatively new videocamera a bit this morning before walking over to the field. Unfortunately, when I brought it up for recording…it didn’t want to cooperate. D’oh!!!
Judging by the number of folks with cameras and video equipment… there should be coverage of the event online shortly.
Next aviation geek challenge of the morning—finding a nice way to mention to the noise folks at Bradley that having a helicopter hovering over the house for over an hour isn’t a particularly pleasant experience.
Update Maybe having the helicopter hovering over the house wasn’t such a bad thing. WTNH has pictures from the helicopter up on their website.
