I just got back from what I had intended to be a few laps around the Promenade…but unfortunately the bow portion of the deck was closed off.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and yesterday morning saw us without too strong of a breeze and “slight” seas. However, yesterday evening we encountered rougher seas and we started to pick up near gale-force winds. When you combine 29 knot winds with our 21 knot speed…well let’s just say that it was very interesting walking in unsheltered spaces. I haven’t had that much fun since I went for a stroll during Hurricane Opal.
There’s a decent amount of spray on our balcony, and the Promenade was rather wet.
My camera lens didn’t fog over when I was out this morning, so I took the opportunity to get a few pictures decks 15-18, before too many sun-worshippers came out, which would have made photography awkward.
We’re due into San Juan in a few hours. Princess doesn’t offer too many excursions in San Juan this cruise, and what there is isn’t entirely kind to folks with disabilities. My wife’s planning to do a bit of shopping near the pier, and I’ll maybe wander around a little, at least until the heat and humidity get to me.
And, with luck, my semi-smushed air card will hold it together to permit me to get this and my previously-queued posts out, as we reconnect to the outside world for a little bit.
