Just when you thought that the deal was almost done, AirTran comes back with another bid for Midwest. From the New York Times:

AirTran Holdings raised its offer for the Midwest Air Group, a regional carrier, to $445 million yesterday, topping a $424 million bid from the buyout firm TPG Capital and Northwest Airlines.

AirTran’s new proposal follows criticism of the TPG-Northwest bid by Pequot Capital Management, Midwest’s largest shareholder.
