A380 To Visit Bradley

A380 To Visit Bradley

One of the nice things of being an aviation enthusiast living almost next door to an airport is that stories like this have special interest to me. From the Courant:

The European airframe maker Airbus intends to land one of its A380 “superjumbo” jets - the world’s largest passenger aircraft - at Bradley International Airport in early October, airport officials said Friday.

An exact date has not been announced, but the latest plans call for an A380 to depart Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, and make the first of three U.S. stops in Hartford, according to Pratt & Whitney, which makes engines for the A380 with partner General Electric.

A local spotter’s mailing list suggests that it’s currently scheduled to arrive before sunrise on Saturday, 2 October, and remain through the morning of Sunday, 3 October.
