I need to thank David Rossmiller at Insurance Coverage Blog for reminding me that I wanted to put up a static page and a set of template files related to the retheming of this site about a month ago.
It hadn’t dawned on me that an artifact in the change of color palettes here is that the site now has a bit of a Yuletide air…something completely not in keeping with my curmudgeonliness when it comes to holidays.
But in case any folks wandering through were wondering… several months ago, in the wake of a study done on how much electricity is wasted worldwide because of the white background on the default Google search page, a treehugger did a little research into what colors were most energy-efficient to display on a CRT and still were at least somewhat aesthetically pleasing, giving rise to the Emergy-C color scheme.
Even without my partial empathization with green concepts, I’m not a fan of wastefulness or inefficiency. Thus the choice in colors here (in case you were wondering).
