Real Life Intervenes

Yes, I know I’ve been quiet for a couple of days. I have some business at work and at home, and the limited free time I’ve had leftover has gone towards dealing with my PDA having been killed in a freak lava lamp accident.

(Yes, I’m serious about the lava lamp accident.)

The good news is that my adjusting/recovering to the demise of a gadget that had been described as my and my wife’s brain has lead me to find an updated solution to a challenge I’ve had for years—the synchronization of Outlook calendars and tasks on two computers. Microsoft has thoughtfully made available “virtual Smartphones” for development purposes, and with a little hacking, they can provide a free mechanism to sync two Outlooks.

At some point, I’m going to need to add a couple of pages to this site to describe the process, and perhaps to post a rant about the state of PDAs these days.
