What I Learned Today

There’s a Newsweek poll out reporting that Bush’s approval rating has dropped to 28%.

Included in the poll results is a listing of the nadirs of other modern presidents approval ratings. From the bottom of the list:

  • G.H.W. Bush: 29% (7/31/92 - 8/2/92)
  • Carter: 28% (6/29/79 - 7/2/79)
  • Nixon: 23% (1/4/74 - 1/7/74)
  • Truman: 22% (2/9/52 - 2/14/52)

I never realized that Truman was at one point less well thought of than Nixon.
