I heard about these interchanges on misc.transport.road a few weeks ago:
Someone noticed that those trumpet interchanges each have a couple of extra ramps. It’s either Russian overengineering at its best, or someone expected those interchanges needing to be expanded into full cloverleafs at some point.
Of course, one could also ask if someone perhaps could have done this as one interchange, rather than two, by realigning one or both of the surface roads.
