In a move to give consumers greater choices for hurricane insurance, state lawmakers on Friday agreed to require companies that sell property insurance in other states to sell it in Florida if they want to offer car insurance here.
I can only imagine that Progressive and GEICO, neither of which really sell property insurance on their own, are enthused about the prospect of increased business and decreased competition in the state, if this becomes law.
