I must be in a wierd mood today. I find the following passage in Insurance Journal today oddly amusing:
“We did not expect this decision,” said Kim Brunner, executive vice president, secretary, and general counsel for State Farm.
I’m not in a position to comment on whether I think the insureds in this case were more subject to wind damage rather than storm surge.
In some of the Katrina claims I’ve been exposed to from the Mississippi coast, I can say that the claims about the wind seem fairly wacky as compared to the research NOAA has published….but circumstances could differ here.
Regardless, it sounds like the big dog is still growling up on the porch, rather than responding with tail tucked between its legs.
