Springfield - Hartford - New Haven Commuter Rail Debated in Massachusetts

State officials are debating whether to provide up to $30 million to extend commuter rail service between Springfield and Enfield, Conn.

The deliberations follow a decision earlier this year by the Connecticut General Assembly to fund a commuter rail link between Enfield and New Haven, with a target completion date in 2011.[...]

I still think they need to add an extension of MBTA commuter service to Springfield to the project list. For those few of us who commute at least occasionally to Boston from the Connecticut River valley, getting into Boston is more of a pain than it ought to be.
