On the Friday before Christmas and the last night of Hanukkah, Perez banged out a two-page letter to Pittsburgh Penguins owner Mario Lemieux and asked him for just one thing:
“I am writing to encourage you to add Hartford, Connecticut to the list of cities you are considering as you contemplate moving your franchise.”
Of course, with plans to build an NHL-grade hockey arena in Hartford, I can’t help but wonder — what would happen to the Civic Center arena (around which a new commercial and residential development has been built)? I doubt the area could support two such venues.
