Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Cogswell Resigns

Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Cogswell Resigns

22 December 2006 · No Comments

As seen at Insurance Journal:

Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell has accepted the resignation of Insurance Commissioner Susan Cogswell and said she will name a replacement within the next few weeks.

Cogswell is not leaving the department, however. She has accepted the position of deputy insurance commissioner and will focus her energies on health care access and affordability issues.

That’s a shame. I had thought that Commissioner Cogswell had done a fine job of balancing a vocal pro-consumer sentiment in the state with insurance industry needs….even though she did admittedly take quite a bit of flack from both sides in the recent Connecticut coastal homeowners insurance kerfuffle.
