D’Oh!!

D’Oh!!

This time of year is “fun” for me at work. We’re coming up on the tail end of planning season, the height of which is culminated with a series of meetings where each division presents their next year’s plan to corporate management.

The past couple of years, those meetings have coincided with election day, and I’ve spent (or tried to spend) Tuesday night in a hotel room watching results. It’s not quite the same as having two or three computers running, plus a PIP-capable TV to monitor results….but even election-stats geeks must make sacrifices for their paying jobs.

I was happy to learn that this year, the meetings are occurring the week before election day. This means that I can monitor election results from the comfort of home, and I get to vote one last time on our soon-to-be-retired levered voting machines.

Unfortunately, this also means that I’m going to be out of town for tonight’s third Lamont-Lieberman-Schlesinger debate.

I wonder how the broadband feed is at the hotel…..
