In a letter Monday, Rep. Lenny T. Winkler of Groton urged Gov. M. Jodi Rell to consider seeking Cogswell’s resignation. The missive comes on the heels of a public forum last week in Groton during which Cogswell seemed “totally non-responsive and uninterested” in homeowners’ concerns, Winkler wrote.[...]
“I was very upset over the hearing,” Winkler said in an interview Monday. “She talked down to those people. ‘I want to educate you people,’ those were her words. It was embarrassing.”[...]
Earlier this month, Cogswell said she will study the issue with an eye to ensuring adequate coverage for the shoreline.
“I am trying to balance the needs of policyholders with the industry’s responsibility to adequately plan for the financial exposure companies face by insuring coastal communities,” she said.
