Connecticut Local Politics has a post up regarding the future of voting in Connecticut. Quoting the press release referenced in the CLP post:
Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz announced today that her office has entered into a contract with LHS Associates of Massachusetts to provide optical scan technology to replace lever voting machines across the state.
Thank you! Although there have been documented issues with optical-scan tallying software not always behaving properly, if appropriately executed this choice means that in almost all cases, when you vote, there will be a piece of paper that you have marked.
If the vote counting is suspect, good old-fashioned manual counting is still possible, as it most definitely ought to be.
