Early this week, Talkleft passed along disturbing news for those who look to the great white north for savings on prescription drugs:
If you have a heart condition, diabetes or some other ailment for which you can’t make it a few days without medication, be careful about ordering drugs from Canada. As if U.S. Customs doesn’t have enough on its plate already, it has embarked on a new program at the Canadian border of seizing packages of prescription medication intended for U.S. patients.
Apparently this is over the line for even our conservative Congress, and a few votes have been taken on amendments to stop this practice. However, whether the will of individual congresscritters will survive an onslaught of lobbying by the pharmaceutical industry remains to be seen.
