in downtown Kansas City. On June 3 she was a bridesmaid when her brother,
Ben, wed his college sweetheart, Heather Anderson.Bride and groom had just finished their first dance at the reception when
the DJ announced to the crowd of about 250 that a special guest had
arrived.Elevator doors opened and a camera crew, a gaggle of beefy, good-lookin’
bodyguards and a woman in a pink dress and big straw hat walked into the
room. The woman in pink approached the bride and groom and announced:
“Heather and Ben, I’m Oprah Winfrey.”
OK, so it’s not much of an actuarial reference in the news. But how many
“news” stories include both the term “actuary” and the name “Oprah Winfrey”?
