On the Jefferson Raid

On the Jefferson Raid

You’ve probably heard through various media sources about the FBI raid on Representative Jefferson’s congressional offices and the
fuss it has caused. Congresscritters, pachyderms and donkeys alike, are decrying the raid as a failure to honor the Constitutional
separation of powers between the Executive and Legislative branches.

I think that they do have a point, and that if Justice Department officials needed information in the Congressman’s office, they
should have gone through Congressional channels to obtain it. However, mistakes do happen.

However, is it just me, or is Congress making a huge stink over having their toes stepped-on, when they’ve been seemingly silent
over the erosion of normal citizens’ rights over the past 5½ years?
