Midtopia has an article up which makes an interesting
observation about the proposal to put 6,000 National Guard troops on the Mexican border:
6,000 troops / 2,000 miles = 3 soldiers per mile
No matter what you think about the idea of sending the military to stop illegal immigrants, that adds up to “token
effort.”
I’m not sure that I’d go quite that far, but it does certainly put the idea in perspective.
