An odd factoid from CQPolitics:
Democratic Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman’s hawkish views on defense and foreign policy ” especially his strong support for the war in Iraq ” have put him in a peculiar position: He draws stronger job approval ratings from Republicans than Democrats in his home state of Connecticut.[...]
[M]ost homestate Democrats interviewed in an April 6 poll by Connecticut’s Quinnipiac University are sticking with Lieberman. Though not as high as his 72 percent approval rating among Republicans Lieberman’s score among Democrats was still a solid 66 percent. When asked if Lieberman deserves another term, 65 percent of Democratic respondents said yes while only 26 percent said no.
Methinks some of the left-winged local bloggers may be deluding themselves about Lamont’s chances of beating Lieberman for the Democratic nomination.
