Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood has issued a statement claiming that Allstate and State Farm are causing more delay in having the state’s Katrina-related lawsuit against them heard.
Allstate and State Farm are asking a federal judge to reconsider his decision to have the case heard in state court.
“If they are so confident in their exclusionary clauses, then why don’t they stop with these delay tactics and meet me in court?” Hood asked.
I can’t help but think back to comments made about how every state judge likely to hear the hurricane cases in Mississppi had experienced some sort of loss from Katrina. Is trying to get a fair trial a “delay tactic”?

Agreed….
And Hood? With gubernatorial aspirations? Lott, Scruggs (who is friends with the mom of, guess who, the Rigsby sisters)…
Sounds like MS needs to clean up more than the Hurricane debris….At least LA threw (rightfully so) 3 of its last 4 Dept of Ins Commishs in jail.
