(Via MightyMiddle) Apparently an Ohio state legislator has a unique response to an anti-gay adoption measure:
State Sen. Robert Hagan sent out e-mails to fellow lawmakers
late Wednesday night, stating that he intends to "introduce legislation
in the near future that would ban households with one or more Republican
voters from adopting children or acting as foster parents." The e-mail
ended with a request for co-sponsorship.
Now, I’ve previously admitted that I’m a socially liberal / fiscally
conservative kind of guy, so you can imagine what my thoughts are about the
initial adoption bill.
I just have to tip my hat towards a legislator who has the chutzpah to
demonstrate his views on the matter in this fashion. This ranks right up
there with the proposals last year to use eminent domain to take some
Supreme Court justices’ properties for various purposes, in commemoration of
their siding with the City of New London against its inhabitants.
I can’t help but wonder how long it will be until a “study” is published
comparing the average amount of harm done to a child adopted by GOP-members
to that done to children adopted by gay couples.
