The WSJ Law Blog is reporting that a 7 year old lawsuit has finally resulted in a verdict of paint manufacturers having created a public nuisance through the manufacture and sale of lead-based paint.
I expect dozens of P&C insurance company CEO’s are currently making phone calls, asking what sorts of lead paint exposures might be on the books from the “bad old days”.
For more information, you might check out the AP wire story here.

Regardless of the legal technicalities the lead paint companies introduce, the fact remains that they sold lead paint long after they knew that their product was poisoning and killing young children. They should therefore pay to clean up the mess that they created.
