Gerrymandering / Mid-Term Redistricting Case Nearing Top of SCOTUS Docket

(Via ElectionLawBlog) In this column, Abagail Thernstrom reminds us that the Texas redistricting case will soon be heard in the Supreme Court.

This is an interesting case, and I’m looking forward to reading the transcripts of the proceedings. However, my gut already says that the Court, if it holds true to form, will continue to avoid touching the electrified question of gerrymandering…and will most likely uphold Texas’ stance that DeLay’s antics don’t violate civil rights laws.
