Seen in the Courant this morning:

The St. Paul Travelers Cos. is expected to announce today more outsourcing of information technology jobs that will mean more than 100 layoffs, most of them in Hartford, sources said.

Close to 100 jobs are expected to be lost in Hartford, while a dozen or more cuts will be in St. Paul, Minn., the company’s corporate headquarters.[...]

Most of the replacements for Travelers employees being laid off will be from India, workers say, voicing resentment about the use of foreign labor.

In addition, some Travelers employees are also bitter because they know they will be asked to stay on for a transition of 60 days or so to help the contracted workers take over the work.

I’m going to refrain from further comment, given my having a bit of Travelers in my background.
