On Secret Prisons in Europe

Another news story this week is about the grilling
Condoleezza Rice is expected to face when she visits Europe over allegations
of the U.S. operating secret Gitmo-like prisons for detainees in the Iraq
war and the War on Terror.

I will admit that despite my distrust of the Bush Administration, this story
smells more like tabloidistic sensationalism in European media than anything
else. However, even if Bush, Rice, et. al. are truthful in denying
those allegations, do they have the credibility to be believed (assuming
you’re not a member of their core loyalists)?
